Thirty Seven

37 weeks and still cookin!
I have a little catching up to do:
At my appointment on Friday 5/17 (35.5 weeks) we found out I was 2cm dilated. Then just 4 days later at my next appointment on 5/21, 36 weeks along, we found out was dilated to 3cm!!  YIKES!!! like this boy's just going to fall out! My doctor commanded me to stay off my feet and stay in bed as much as possible. Everything was looking perfectly healthy with baby and mama, my blood pressure remained steady at 108/68, we just started praying I wouldn't dilate any further so baby boy could have all the time he needs :).   Fast forward a week to my appointment yesterday (37 weeks) and to my absolute surprise I was still at 3cm. Hallelujah! If I had been at 4cm my dr said he would have to send me to labor and delivery to monitor for contractions. So here we are, still a 3 and praying to make it another week to 38. I'm just happy to make it each additional day that the baby bun gets to keep baking :)

My c-section is scheduled for June 14th. (If i make it!) I'm really scared about having a c-section but it's the best and safest choice for both me and baby based on my history with Bowman getting stuck and my subsequent massive hemorrhage. We know we got very lucky that both Bowman and I emerged in great condition. Im very proud of Bowmans birth and I know it was a miracle he was ok, I believed and God saw us through. I just don't feel comfortable taking the same route the second time around. I couldn't ever live with myself if this baby also got stuck; a shoulder dystocia easily results in very very terrible consequences including nerve damage, paralysis, brain damage and fatality. So we don't wanna go there knowing I'm already a risk.

Our house is coming along but the first floor is still ripped to shreds. The good news is that half of the second floor is finished and ready for us to move in :)

Last week a devastating tornado ripped through the southern part of Oklahoma City. Somehow it looks like a small tornado made its way into our house... but no, we did that. Yep.
